The Pittsburgh Penguins fell 6-3 last night to the Colorado Avalanche. The Pens fell behind 3-0 before Sidney Crosby scored his fourth career natural hat trick over a span of just over five minutes. Colorado took the lead for good five minutes later, and would score two goals surrounding the Pens pulling their goaltender in the final minute of the game. Tristan Jarry stopped just 20 of 25 shots for the Penguins. Crosby now leads the Pens with 13 goals this season.
The Pens will host the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday at PPG Paints Arena in the first of three home games in a row. They are now 10-8-5 overall, and in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division.
The Flyers continued their front office purge Wednesday, firing their assistant general manager and an assistant coach. The Flyer fired general manger Ron Hextall two days ago.
