The Pittsburgh Penguins lost 3-2 in overtime to the Vancouver Canucks last night at PPG Paints Arena. Jake Guentzel opened the game with a goal six minutes into the first period, but the Canucks responded with two other goals that period. The Pens tied the game with a Carl Hagelin goal late in the third to force the overtime. Casey DeSmith stopped 23 of 26 shots in his third consecutive start in goal.
The Pens are 2-1-2 overall through five games, and are six points behind first-place Carolina in the Metropolitan Division. The Pens visit Toronto Thursday to open a four-game road trip.
