The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals by Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust, but allowed three goals in the second period. The Ducks scored an empty-net goal late in the third period. Casey DeSmith started in goal for the Penguins, and stopped 32 of 35 shots. The loss snapped a Penguins two-game winning streak. Anaheim has now won nine of their past 10 games.
The Penguins visit the first-place Washington Capitals tomorrow night.
Kris Letang returned to the ice last night after suffering a leg injury last week.
