The Dallas Stars defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 last night. Sidney Crosby scored his 31st goal of the season for the Pens, his first career goal in Dallas. He has now scored in all 32 of the arenas in the NHL. The other Penguins goal was scored by defenseman P.O. Joseph, his fifth of the year.
Casey DeSmith stopped 30 of 33 shots on goal.
Tristan Jarry did not suit up for the game, due to an apparent lower body injury that he is being evaluated for. Jarry was in net for the victory in Denver Wednesday. The Penguins had to call up Dustin Tokarski from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to be the back-up last night.
The Pens received help from the Toronto Maple Leafs, who defeated the Florida Panthers 6-2. The Pens remain one point in front of the Panthers in the chase for the final Wild Card in the Eastern Conference, with 10 games remaining.
The Pens return home to host the Washington Capitals Saturday night. Face-off is 8pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7:30pm.
The Capitals defeated Chicago 6-1 last night. They are now four points behind the Penguins.
