The Pittsburgh Penguins had no trouble defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 6-1 Friday night.
Phil Kessel and Jake Guentzel had three points each in the game. The opening goal in the game came on a pass from Kessel to Guentzel who was right in front of the net for an easy tap in goal. Kessel had two goals on the night. Also chipping in were Olli Maatta, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin who also had a three point night.
The Pens are in action again this evening as they travel to take on the Florida Panthers. You can hear coverage of that game on WISR 680am starting at 6:30 p.m. with the pregame show. Face off is 7:00 p.m.
General Manager Jim Rutherford acquired Derick Brassard with the help of a three team trade. Ryan Reaves and Ian Cole were moved from the Pens in the trade.
