Penn State University is outlining an initial plan to close a number of branch campuses across the state.
Penn State’s president said in a statement that they “cannot continue with business as usual.”
The statement said 12 branch campuses are under consideration to close. That includes Penn State New Kensington, Allegheny, Beaver, and Fayette.
The seven largest Penn State branch campuses will remain open.
The school plans on making a decision by the end of the spring semester, although the campuses would not close until 2027.
