The San Jose Sharks snapped a six-game losing streak following a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins last night. For the Pens, the loss was their third in a row. Sidney Crosby scored the Pens only goal, tying the game early in the third period.
The Penguins saw the return of Bryan Rust to the lineup from an injury, but the team lost Evgeni Malkin to Injured Reserve.
The Pens have lost seven of their last nine games, and have fallen to last place in the Metropolitan Division. They are now seven points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 30 games remaining in their season.
The Pens visit Utah Wednesday to complete their seven-game road trip.
