The Pennsylvania Game Commission says there was an over 10 percent increase in the deer harvest this past hunting season.
The new numbers released showed that Pennsylvania hunters took down just under 477,000 white-tailed deer and around 175,000 of those were bucks.
Locally, Butler County is split into two different wildlife management units. Those units had an estimated combined harvest of nearly 68,000 deer.
These numbers include the objectives of reducing deer numbers in areas impacted by Chronic Wasting Disease.
