The minimum wage in Pennsylvania is set to increase over the next few years.
A bill passed by the state senate would eventually make the new minimum wage $9.50 per hour—but that rate wouldn’t go into effect until 2022.
The law established new incremental increases beginning on July 1st, 2020.
The bill passed 42-7 in the senate, but locally Senators Scott Hutchinson and Joe Pittman voted against the wage raise.
