Over 2,000 county residents are without power this morning after strong wind gusts rolled through last night.
According to Central Electric Cooperative, there are just over 2,000 county homes without power. A majority are in Clearfield, Oakland, and Summit Townships.
There are a handful of First Energy customers without power this morning as well.
The outage is possibly connected to a field that caught on fire last night in Clearfield Township. It happened just before midnight, when a caller said they heard an explosion behind their house and then found a field on fire.
Wires near the fire had to have power shut off in order for crews to battle the flames. Both Penn Power and Central Electric had to be called to the scene.
