While students at Butler County Community College kicked off their fall semester this week, the college is also getting ready for a new slate of lifelong learning classes.
These non-credit classes give an opportunity for residents to learn a new skill or lesson.
There are more than 120 classes scheduled through June 26th, with many lasting just one session.
Some of the new classes include a Bob Ross painting class, a seniors “mingle in the kitchen” class, and others in a wide variety of topics.
Christine Steele is working to become certified in the Bob Ross style of painting and is looking forward to passing his technique along to local residents.
“It’s exciting for me to see what people can create,” Steele said. “There’s just something about landscapes. You can sit back as you are creating it, and envision you are there relaxing, whether it’s a mountain or a stream. It’s very nice to be able to escape. And art is such a way for your mind to calm.”
Many classes start at $25 for registration. More info is available on BC3’s website.
