A violent domestic dispute in northern Butler County resulted in a man being shot in the chest and a woman suffering multiple injuries.
Police say 45-year-old James Powers allegedly assaulted his wife 42-year-old Tammy Powers at their home on Hungarian Road in Cherry Township early Sunday morning.
During the fight, James Powers threatened Tammy with a gun. The two then struggled for the weapon and James Powers was shot in the chest.
Both people initially fled the home when police first arrived. Tammy Powers would return to talk to police.
Officials would find James Powers in Muddy Creek Township around 11 a.m. Sunday. He was then flown to a Youngstown hospital to be treated for his injuries.
He is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault.
Tammy Powers suffered cuts and bruises in the incident.
