Pennsylvania officials say they are still keeping a close eye on the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza.
As the bird flu impacts poultry farms across the country, the state’s agricultural secretary says no commercial poultry farm in Pennsylvania has been infected since last February.
He adds that the last confirmed infection happened in a backyard flock of birds in Venango County; none of those eggs were being sold outside of the farm.
Officials also say that they are monitoring milk production as well, and added requirements that dairy producers submit samples to be tested.
