We started Tuesday off in the 30s, but it didn’t get quite cold enough for a widespread frost.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Matthew Kramer, out of the NWS Pittsburgh Office, says typically we’ve already experienced a frost by this date.
“The median date of the first fall freeze for Butler County is Oct. 1,” he said. “We’re beyond the typical date for the first fall freeze. It’s been a little slower to get the cold air in.”
Since we didn’t get frost early Tuesday morning, it will likely come late Wednesday night. A low of 33 degrees is expected Wednesday, with a high Thursday of only 46. A low of 32 is expected on Thursday.
