Administrators believe that the 2022 Butler Township budget can once again be balanced using existing anticipated revenue.
Butler Township administrators and department heads presented their needs to the commissioners Thursday night as part of the annual budget meeting.
According to Township manager Tom Knights, the size of the budget is expected to increase by about $300,000 to just over $7.8 million total which could increase more depending on how commissioners choose to spend federal COVID relief funding.
Budgetary expenses include two new police vehicles, as well as a RAM 5500 truck for use by the road and parks departments. The Township also expects to invest in a new network server for the police department. The cost of many items has increased in recent months.
The commissioners will pass a preliminary 2022 budget with a vote later this month before finalizing the plan for next year in December.
