Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell will play under the “franchise” tag, after the two sides could not come to a long-term agreement. It is the second consecutive year the All-Pro back has been given the designation by the team. The tender is worth $14.5 million. The Steelers would be able to work a deal at the end of this season, or offer a “transition” tag tender which would be worth $17.5 million. Otherwise, Bell would hit free agency next March. Just like last year, he has yet to sign the “franchise” tag offer. Bell skipped training camp, which begins in Latrobe next week, and arrived just before the regular season began.
