The Pittsburgh Steelers will meet division-rival Baltimore in the Wild Card Round of the NFL playoffs which begin this weekend. The Steelers lost 19-17 to Cincinnati Saturday night, while the Ravens earned the AFC North title with a 35-10 win over Cleveland. The Steelers ended their season with a four-game losing streak and fell to the #6 seed entering the post-season.
Kick-off is 8pm Saturday night in Baltimore. The Ravens are early 9-1/2 point favorites. ( The Steelers have lost five consecutive post-season games. )
The Los Angeles Chargers earned the fifth-seed in the AFC seed after the Steelers loss and a 34-20 win over Las Vegas Sunday. They will visit Houston Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm.
Denver locked up the final AFC Wild Card with a 38-0 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Their win eliminated Miami and Cincinnati. The Broncos visit Buffalo Sunday at 1pm. ( Rookie quarterback Bo Nix broke Peyton Manning’s Denver record for completion percentage in a single season. )
The Detroit Lions earned the #1-overall seed and the NFC North title following a 31-9 win over the Minnesota Vikings last night. The Lions join the Chiefs with first-round playoff “byes”. The Vikings will visit the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round Monday.
The other two NFC games will be played Sunday – Green Bay will travel to Philadelphia at 4:30pm. Tampa Bay is hosting Washington at 8pm.
