The new Pennsylvania Speaker of the House is making his chief priority a new bill that would give victims of childhood sexual abuse the ability to sue their abusers regardless of the statute of limitations.
Representative Mark Rozzi says justice has been denied for too long and a constitutional amendment must be passed without delay.
“We’re on a tight timeline. Pursuant to our Constitution this amendment must pass both the House and Senate by the first week of February to be placed on the May primary ballot,” Rozzi said.
Rozzi, who is a survivor of child sexual abuse, says he won’t consider any other legislation until the General Assembly passes the constitutional amendment.
