Monday is National Ride to Work Day and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is reminding motorists to safely share the road with motorcycles.
Motorcyclists are encouraged to participate in National Ride to Work Day so PennDOT is asking other commuters to be vigilant about watching out for motorcyclists.
Drivers can do this by checking mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes or at intersections. Motorcyclists can help avoid crashes by obeying all speed limits and allowing time to react to dangerous situations.
Motorcyclists are 27 times more likely than passenger vehicle occupants to die in a motor vehicle crash and five times as likely to be injured.
