Residents in several parts of Butler County now have state representation again.
Pennsylvania State Representative Marci Mustello was sworn into office last week and will represent the 11th Legislative District- which includes the city of Butler and Butler Township, as well as several other townships and boroughs.
Mustello says she plans to focus on two issues as she begins her term: property taxes and the opioid crisis.
“We really need to reform property tax,” Mustello said following her swearing-in. “We obviously want to keep the education levels funded to where they are, but I’m consistently hearing from people that they want property tax reformed.”
Mustello replaces former State Rep. Brian Ellis, who served the district for 15 years before resigning in March following allegations of sexual assault.
Mustello’s district office is located in Ellis’ former office in Lyndora, and is now open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Constituents can also visit RepMustello.com or interact on Mustello’s Facebook page.
