Police are releasing more information about a Knoch school teacher who allegedly hit a child.
According to charging documents, the incident happened last November when 35-year-old Carly Miller of Alison Park grabbed the hands of an 8-year-old child with autism at Knoch Primary School.
The child then allegedly bit Miller on her forearm and she then slapped the child in the face.
Police used video surveillance, a first-hand witness, and text messages to charge Miller. In one text exchange, it’s alleged Miller said “I’m going to kick (the child) if (they) ever bites me again,” five days before the incident.
Miller has been charged with simple assault and harassment and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
She is challenging her employment status with the school district.
