The major league baseball draft begins tonight and will continue through Wednesday. The Pirates have the 19th overall pick, and will have another selection at 32nd overall. The Pirates have been linked to several high school age players, which will continue a trend of selecting three high school hitters over the past two seasons. The Pirates had selected heavy on pitching the previous three drafts prior to that.
The 32nd pick in the draft was awarded to the Bucs after Russell Martin signed with Toronto as a free agent.
