A medical marijuana company is taking part in an anti-opioid campaign.
Cresco Labs- which operates the Cresco Yeltrah medical marijuana dispensary in Butler- is highlighting what they say are real-life stories of the positive impact medical marijuana has in combating the nationwide opioid epidemic.
Cresco says their message is simple- medical marijuana is legal in 30 states and is a non-lethal, less-addictive option for treating pain over prescription drugs.
The multi-state awareness campaign has made its way to downtown Pittsburgh’s Market Square. Vending machines have been brought in and are filled with replica narcotic pill bottles. When dispensed, the bottle contains information about medical marijuana and urges people to ask their doctors about replacing opioids.
