The Pittsburgh Maulers completed a 1-9 season in the USFL after a 33-21 loss to the Michigan Panthers. Former Slippery Rock University quarterback Roland Rivers III split time with Vad Lee in the game for Pittsburgh. He was 11 of 14 for 123 yards and one touchdown. Rivers also rushed twice for 18 yards.
To assure neither team was “tanking” to get the top overall draft pick—the USFL decided last week that the winner of the game between the two worst teams in the league would get the top draft pick.
