Electricity is reportedly out for many in the Center Township area.
According to West Penn Power’s website, at one time upwards of 1,800 customers were affected. That number has since been reduced. As of 7:30am, about 100 customers were still without power.
Crews were dispatched to the area after a transformer reportedly exploded around 5:40 AM in the area of Hendrick and Spring Run Road, but according to West Penn Power, no evidence of such an incident occurred.
Crews are continuing to work on finding the source of the issue.
According to West Penn Power’s website, the company is hoping to restore all power by around 9:30am.
