A Butler man arrested for making threats against President Donald Trump will be in court today.
The FBI and police raided a home on Morton Avenue in Butler Township last Wednesday afternoon. The Department of Justice says 32-year-old Shawn Monper of Butler was making threats against President Trump and others in his administration over the last couple of months. He also talked about buying guns and assassinating the President.
The federal complaint alleges that earlier this month, the FBI became aware of threats posted to Youtube by a user identified as Mr. Satan. The investigation determined that user’s identity was connected to the residence of Monper. Beginning in February and continuing through the beginning of this month, Monper also made several comments about buying guns and conducting a mass shooting including assassination of the President.
Monper will be in court today for his initial hearing.
