Following a series of shows this summer, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real have announced that the band will go on an indefinite hiatus. Lukas Nelson, the son of outlaw country legend Willie Nelson, originally formed the band in 2008 with drummer Anthony LoGerfo. The rest of the band features bassist Corey McCormick, multi-instrumentalist Logan Metz, and percussionist Tato Melgar. POTR released eight studio albums over their career, including their final album, Sticks And Stones, in 2023.
“After 15 unforgettable years, Promise of the Real has decided to take a well-earned hiatus, and begin a new creative chapter in all of our lives,” the band shared on Instagram. “Lukas plans to keep writing, recording, and playing shows, while the rest of us will continue to pursue our own projects and artistic ambitions. Expect to see a lot more great art from all of us in the near future.” (JamBase)
