Long-time sponsor Lowe’s Companies, Incorporated will not return to Jimmie Johnson’s Number-48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet after the 2018 season is completed. The North Carolina-based home improvement company has been the team’s lone primary sponsor since 2001, sharing in Johnson’s record-tying seven NASCAR Cup Series championships and eighty-three race wins. Johnson, 42, is under contract to Hendrick Motorsports through the 2020 season. He is the only driver to compete in NASCAR’s post-season playoffs each year since the concept was introduced in 2004.
