A couple of bills sponsored by a local lawmaker will be discussed before the House Judiciary Committee in Harrisburg today.
Republican State Representative Tim Bonner who represents residents in portions of Butler and Mercer Counties has sponsored House Bill 1822 which amends Title 20 rules to increase the maximum amount of funds a financial institution needs to release money to prioritized relatives from $10,000 to $20,000.
Bonner is also sponsoring House Bill 1985 that would amend Title 18 to create an exemption to the Wiretap Act that would permit people to intercept calls from telemarketers to enforce consumer protection laws.
Republican State Representative Marci Mustello is also sponsoring a bill before the House Judiciary Committee today that would amend Title 20 rules to exempt certain properties from being counted when settling estates.
