Several local municipalities will be receiving state and federal funding in order to reduce crime and assist victims.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency recently awarded over $430,000 to the Butler County Victim Witness Program as well as $281,000 for the Butler County Gun Investigation Program.
Additionally, Butler Township will receive over $155,000 for in-car video and body-worn cameras, Slippery Rock Borough has been awarded over $97,000 for police department modernizations, and the Butler County Alliance for Children will receive $47,000.
The grant funding can be used to purchase items that improve safety like cameras, radios, server upgrades, and license plate readers.
