Butler Memorial Hospital could see additional patients due to the fact that the Ellwood City Medical Center is temporarily shut down.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, emergency room and inpatient services were suspended on Wednesday with patients being sent up to a half hour away to New Castle and Butler.
The cause of the shutdown is thought to be a non-functional CT scanner.
Ellwood City Medical Center employees have also reported not receiving paychecks earlier this year.
