The number of local residents requiring hospitalization for serious COVID-19 symptoms continues to rise and two more local deaths have been reported.
According to the Butler Health System, as of Thursday morning 21 patients are hospitalized at Butler Memorial Hospital with seven of those in the ICU. This is an increase of three in the ICU compared to Monday.
The hospital reported two deaths to the state on Monday.
BHS again stresses the importance of vaccinations since over three-quarters of hospital admissions are unvaccinated patients and nearly 100% of the most seriously ill have not been vaccinated.
