Three local college football teams fell in postseason action on Saturday.
In the ACC Conference Championship, Pitt fell to #2 Clemson 42-10. With the loss, Pitt drops to 7-6 overall. The team will learn their bowl game destination in the near future.
In the Division I FCS playoffs, Duquesne fell to South Dakota State by a final of 51-6. Duquesne finishes the season with an overall record of 9-4, and won the Northeast Conference Championship.
In the Division II quarterfinals, Slippery Rock fell to undefeated Notre Dame College by a final of 21-17. Slippery Rock, who won the PSAC West and played in the conference championship game this season, finishes with an overall record of 11-3. Senior running back Wes Hills broke the school’s single season rushing record on Saturday. He finishes the season with 1,714 yards after gaining 154 on Saturday. Butler graduate Tim Vernick also collected ten tackles in Saturday’s contest.
