It appears the Keystone state will only have five mini-casinos after an auction failed to attract any bids yesterday.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Board held one last auction in Harrisburg Wednesday for the right to apply for a mini-casino license. Nobody placed a bid.
State lawmakers approved the creation of the mini-casinos in 2017—and five licenses were granted last year raising $127 million for the state.
The nearest mini-casino—which can house up to 750 slot machines and 40 table games—will be in Beaver County, just west of Ellwood City.
