Congressman Mike Kelly of Butler is supporting the proposed National Defense Authorization Act.
The bill includes a nearly 15 percent pay raise for junior enlisted service members. It also would deploy the National Guard to the southern border.
There are also portions of the bill that include abolishing diversity and climate change programs and banning the teaching of critical race theory.
