Karns City High School was dismissed early Tuesday afternoon after the discovery of a bomb threat message.
According to an email from the district, the state police were notified and the building evacuated around 1 p.m. As a precaution, the decision was made to send students home at 1:45 p.m.
State Police are working with school police to determine if the threat is credible.
All other Karns City schools will continue to operate on a normal schedule and dismiss at the normal time.
