A local municipality has been awarded a large state grant to help with park improvement.
The PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources recently announced their 2020 Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants and a Jackson Township project was one of those chosen to be funded.
Jackson will receive $120,000 for further development of Reservoir Park including construction of a parking area, trail, and boardwalk. Play equipment with safety surfacing is also expected to be installed along with ADA access, landscaping, a sign, and other improvements.
This year’s grants distributed a total of over $23 million to nearly 160 projects across the state to plan, acquire, and develop public parks, recreation areas, trails, river access, and conservation of open space.
