The Tennessee Volunteers baseball team defeated Florida State 7-2 last night in Nebraska and have reached the College World Series final series for the first time in the modern era. They also became the first #1 national seed to reach the finals since 2009. Texas A&M joined Tennessee last night when they eliminated Florida 6-0. It was the first time Florida had been shut out in 145 games. The all-SEC best-of-three final will begin Saturday. It is the second straight year the SEC has put two teams into the championship series, and third time in four. The Southeastern Conference will have at least one team in the finals for the 15th time in 16 years.
