The New York Islanders defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-3 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Penguins goaltender Matt Murray was pulled after allowing four goals on nine shots. Casey DeSmith allowed two goals on 16 shots. Sidney Crosby scored a goal for the fourth consecutive game. Crosby netted his first goal of the season a week ago in Edmonton, and now has six for the season.
The Pens visit the Islanders Thursday. The Islanders have moved to within a point of the first-place Penguins.
