A project to improve the sidewalks at the Tier Parking Garage in downtown Butler is nearly complete.
Troy Jay Construction of Slippery Rock recently completed the work over the course of a week at a cost of just over $28,000 from a line item in the city’s budget for maintenance of the Tier Garage.
Butler City Parking Manager Jimmy Chiprean told our newsroom:
“We’re so happy to finally get this taken care of because our motto has always been to provide safe, well-maintained, convenient, and economic parking. This is just an area that needed to be done. It’s now 100% ADA compliant which is a very must in today’s day and age for our handicapped citizens.”
The work included the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalks, curbs and detectable warning service mats, as well as the repairing of cracks and grinding of trip hazards.
