A portion of I-79 was shut down for hours last night after a tractor trailer caught on fire.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 11:30 p.m. for the fire in the southbound lane, around mile marker 101 in Worth Township.
Crews say there was heavy smoke in the area, and when they got on scene, they found a fully involved fire in the trailer of the truck. It was discovered that the trailer was carrying paper products.
The fire was also impacting the hillside just off the highway.
No one was injured in the fire, but cleanup was extensive forcing the shutdown of I-79.
