High wind gusts are in the forecast for today and we’re already hearing multiple reports of wires down. Butler County is under a wind advisory, with gusts ranging as high as 55 miles per hour.
Incidents have been reported all throughout the county.
- Rowan Road in Cranberry Township is currently closed due to trees across the road and downed wires.
- There is reportedly a tree down on North Main Street near the cemetery
- A tree was on fire in the 400 block of Freeport Road near the pet cemetery
- A tree is reportedly down on Chicora Road in Oakland Twp. near an intersection
- Tree down on Union Church Road in Mars blocking one lane
As of 8:30 a.m. more than 500 residents in Butler County were without power.
The most significant wind is expected to hit the area around 9 a.m. and last through the early evening.
Officials warn that the wind could lead to power outages and downed wires.
