Girls Tennis:
–Knoch defeated Westmont Hilltop 5-0 Tuesday in the state 2A First round. The Knights will face Scranton Prep in the quarterfinals Friday in Hershey.
–Karns City defeated Clearfield 2-1 in the 2A semifinals of the District-9 playoffs. Hunter Dittman scored both goals for the Gremlins. The D-9 championship game will feature Karns City and Brookville next week.
WPIAL Girls Soccer Quarterfinals tonight:
–Butler will travel to Peters Township.
–Seneca Valley is hosting Mt. Lebanon.
–Pine-Richland goes to Upper St. Clair
–North Allegheny travels to Norwin.
All are 8pm matches.
–Mars will face Montour at Seneca Valley high school at 6pm in the 3A quarterfinals.
–Freeport goes to South Park at 8pm in the 2A quarterfinals.
The Slippery Rock Boys Soccer team will meet the winner of tonight’s match between Franklin and General McLane in the District-10 semifinals.
North Catholic golfer Maddie Smithco won the State Golf 2A championship Tuesday in York. She was the defending state champion.
North Allegheny’s Caroline Wrigley on the 3A state title.
Girls Volleyball Playoffs:
–Butler will face Latrobe tonight in the WPIAL 4A first round. The match begins at 6pm at Norwin high school.
