Boys Soccer:
–North Catholic defeated Pine-Richland 3-2 in overtime in a non-section match. Ryan Augustine of North Catholic netted the game-winner in a clash between two top-ranked teams in different classes. North Catholic plays in 2A. The Rams are in 4A.
–Greensburg Central Catholic defeated Freeport 5-4. Hunter Hardin, Braden Change, Steve Teorsky and Cole Bennick scored the Yellow Jackets goals.
–Mars-3 Ambridge-0.
–Seneca Valley-3 Bethel Park-1.
Girls Soccer:
–Freeport-8 Armstrong-0. Sidney Shemanski led the Yellow Jackets with two goals in their regular-season finale.
–North Catholic-1 Beaver-0.
Girls Tennis:
–Knoch defeated Quaker Valley 5-0 in the quarterfinals of the WPIAL 2A Team Playoffs.
–Mars fell 3-2 to Mt. Lebanon in the 3A quarterfinals.
Girls Volleyball:
–Butler-3 Fox Chapel-0. Scores were 25-14, 25-15 and 26-24. Maria Lucas led Butler with 13 kills and 14 digs. Sophia Sacriponte had nine kills and Julia Gibson had eight kills. Butler improved to 10-5 overall and 6-5 in their section and have qualified for the playoffs. The close the regular season at Seneca Valley Thursday. WPIAL Playoff seedings will be announced Monday.
