High School Sports Results from Thursday:
Girls Volleyball:
–Butler defeated Shaler 3-2 in an exciting five-set match at home last night. (23-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 15-10). Tabitha Walker led Butler with 17-kills and 12-digs. Maria Lucas had eight kills and 47-digs. Hope Fiorina had 30-digs and two aces. Sophia Sacriponte had six kills. Butler will compete in the Armstrong Tournament Saturday.

Cross Country:
–The Butler Middle School Boys Cross Country runners swept Hampton and Seneca Valley Thursday, and finished their season 8-1. Raine Gratzmiller led a Butler sweep of the top three spots with Sage Vavro and Cody Reep. Ben Lyons was fifth. (Butler-17 Hampton-42. Butler-17 Seneca Valley-41.)
–The Butler Girls split their dual-meet, defeating Hampton 22-35, but falling to Seneca Valley 31-26. Butler’s Jennifer Cichra won the race. The Butler Girls finished 4-5 overall.
High School Football Friday:
–Butler will face Central Catholic at Carnegie Mellon University. Kick-off is 7:30pm. Hear the game with Ron Willison and Craig Lucas on WBUT 1050am (and at wbut.com) beginning with the pre-game at 7:15pm.
