High School Sports Scores from Wednesday:
The Knoch Girls Tennis team advanced to the WPIAL 2A championship with a 5-0 victory over Beaver Wednesday. The Knights will meet Sewickley Acacemy in the title match.
North Allegheny defeated Mt. Lebanon 4-1 in the 3A semifinals and will meet Shady Side Academy in the championship.
The WPIAL Soccer Playoff match-ups have been announced.
–The Butler Boys will host Latrobe Monday at 7pm in the 4A quarterfinals. Seneca Valley received a “bye”.
–The Mars Boys will host Chartiers Valley Monday at 8pm in the 3A quarterfinals.
–The Freeport Boys will visit Quaker Valley Monday at 8pm in the 2A quarterfinals.
–The North Catholic Boys will face Shady Side Academy Monday at 6pm at Mars high school also is 2A.
In the Girls Soccer quarterfinals:
–Butler will face Penn-Trafford at North Allegheny Saturday at 3pm in 4A. Seneca Valley received a “bye”.
–Mars will host Greensburg Salem Saturday at 6pm in 3A.
–Freeport will meet North Catholic at Mars high school Saturday at 3pm in the 2A quarterfinals.
Girls Soccer:
–Butler-5 Hempfield-0.
–Pine-Richland-6 Connellsville-0. Alaina Kalin had a hat trick for the Rams.
