The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for this afternoon with temperatures rising into the low-90s.
The advisory is in effect from noon until 8 p.m. as the heat index could rise to 103 according to the NWS.
Officials also remind people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, and to stay out of the sun.
They also urge people to check up on relatives and neighbors who may be at risk.
If you are outside, the NWS encourages people to limit your time in the sun and to wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
