People who use the hazardous and electronic recycling plant in Forward Township will be seeing a temporary rise in prices.
The company ECS&R told the county that new updates required by the Department of Environmental Protection are forcing some changes in the facility—causing a rise in prices.
Most of the electronic prices will remain the same, however some chemicals will increase per pound.
Items like pesticides and caustics will more than double their price per pound, while others like acid batteries will see more modest increases.
The price changes go into effect immediately, but will be up for review at the end of October. At that point, the county may reopen bids for a potentially new recycling company.
