Local veterans will receive assistance from a statewide grant program.
The Butler County Office of Veterans Affairs has been awarded $6,000 in grants through the Veterans Trust Fund which is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
This money will be used to support and expand outreach services to veterans across our county as well as sustain nonprofit organizations with similar goals. One such local organization is Robin’s Home which will receive $40,000 to provide transportation, household essentials, and other necessities to veterans in need and their families.
A total of over $1 million in grants is made possible through voluntary $3 donations from motorists who apply for or renew a drivers license, photo ID, or motor vehicle registration. This fund also receives proceeds from the sale of Honoring Veterans license plates.
