Just a day after Governor Tom Wolf called for the legislature to enact a mask mandate for schools across the state, Republican leaders are saying that isn’t going to happen.
Leaders of the GOP-controlled House and Senate said that many local officials have already made a decision about masks, and that the state shouldn’t get involved.
Wolf had wanted the state to follow the latest guidance from the CDC which encouraged students and unvaccinated adults to wear masks while coronavirus cases surge again across the country.
